Window Options & Details
1. Window Frame Colors
- White: The standard and most common choice. White frames complement nearly any home style, making them a versatile and budget-friendly option for most windows.
- Almond or Clay: These colors are a slight upgrade from white and are perfect for matching a neutral-colored exterior. These windows offer a subtle, cohesive look that enhances your home’s curb appeal.
- White Interior with Coal Black or Bronze Exterior: For higher-end homes that want to make a statement, these options are ideal. Dark exteriors drive up replacement window cost due to the manufacturing process. New improvements in paint and surface bonding have made these colors a safe and premium choice, offering durability and striking visual appeal.
2. Internal Grids
Internal grids are a popular design feature that can significantly impact the look of your windows. Available in a variety of patterns such as colonial, prairie, perimeter, and farmhouse, grids come in matching window colors. Whether you’re going for a classic or contemporary style, grids add character and charm to your new windows.
3. Noise Reduction Glass
For homeowners looking for windows that reduce outside noise, Dissimilar Noise Reduction Glass is an excellent option. It offers superior sound control, making it ideal for bedrooms or windows facing a pool pump, AC unit, street, or neighboring house. This glass type helps create a quieter, more peaceful home environment.
4. Privacy Glass
Privacy is a priority for many homeowners, and obscured glass options deliver just that. Choose from:
- Standard Obscure
- Rain Glass
- Satin Obscure for maximum privacy
These options are perfect for bathrooms, entryways, or any room where you want to keep prying eyes out while still letting light in.
5. Tempered Safety Glass
Tempered Safety Glass is a building code requirement in specific situations, including but not limited to:
- Stairwell landings
- Inside bathtubs or showers
- Within 24 inches of an inswing door
- Walk areas near swimming pools or patios
This type of glass is designed to break into small, less harmful pieces if shattered, making it a safer option for these high-risk areas.
6. Foam-Filled Window Frames
Foam-filled vinyl frames are an upgrade for those who prioritize thermal efficiency and sound reduction. Foam filled frames add an extra layer of insulation, helping to keep your home comfortable year-round. They’re a great choice for anyone looking to maximize the performance of their new windows. However, foam fill is not needed in most vinyl windows.
7. DP50 Composite Reinforced Lower Sash & Wet Picture Window Glazing
For superior wind load performance and added security, DP50 composite-reinforced lower sashes and wet picture window glazing are ideal. These features protect your home’s occupants during extreme weather conditions and provide a solid base for locks and keepers, enhancing the security of your windows.
8. Upgraded Solar Glass
If you’re concerned about Texas extreme heat and glare, Cardinal 452+ Solar Glass is your best option. Cardinal 340+ is the latest technology in glass coatings that blocks heat, filters glare, and offers the lowest solar heat gain. While this glass is darker than Cardinal 366, it’s highly effective, especially in hot climates. The performance it delivers is unmatched. Plus, there’s an easy clean coating for cleaner glass and a better view.
